Picnic’s ambition is to be Finland’s most passionate café company. Picnic companies consist of café-restaurant chain Picnic, founded in 1991 and known for its filled baguettes and baked potatoes, high-quality coffee focused La Torrefazione café chain as well as procurement and logistics company Europicnic. In total there are 49 cafés and the company’s sales totaled €24 million in 2021. Sentica became Picnic’s majority owner in May 2019 as the company’s founder Mikael Swanljung and his family decided to sell their majority stake. At the same time, the management group of Picnic became owners as well.

Sentica aims to develop and support the company in opening new cafés all around Finland. Eating outside of home is growing and interest towards the origin of food is driving the purchase decision making in increasing amounts. We believe that an excellent customer experience is built on responsible sourcing of ingredients, benefits of a wide chain and well-known brands.
